In Mallorca there is a local indigenous variety of tomato known as ramallet tomato, its scientific name is LycopersiconEsculentumMill. The Ramallet tomato, or the Mallorcan tomato, is traditionally hung to allow it to keep longer, is orange-red in colour and contains a high percentage of pulp.
